All You Need Is $300 Dollars To Get Your Vagina Massaged, And Apparently Lots Of Women Are Doing It

It’s safe to say that we all love a good massage. After all, what better way to unwind than to have someone physically rub away all your stress? But now, some women are going all out when it comes to getting a massage, and paying extra for a vagina massage. And no, it’s not what you think, so feel free to get your mind out of the gutter. Read on to find out about these massages, and why women are willing to shell out the big bucks for them.

Massages. Vagina massages, or yoni massages as they’re formally called, involve using herbs and steam to get all the tension out of your vagina. You might not think it, but these massages help to relieve stress, anxiety, and can improve your orgasms significantly.

Pleasure. According to Women’s Health, a yoni massage can also help you get in touch with your sexuality, but it can also help you overcome any emotional experiences you may be struggling with, like for example, a break up. These massages can also help you find new pleasure points in your vagina that you didn’t know were there.

Energy cleanse. “A yoni massage is a ceremony where a woman is invited to seize touch on her vulva. When we invite touch, there’s opportunity to cleanse a sense of energy,” Isis Phoenix, a sexologist, tells Women’s Health.

Sessions. During one of her sessions, Phoenix usually has her client start off by doing some breaking exercises in order to get her more in tune with her body and pelvic floor. After a few more physical exercises, Phoenix will then do a yoni steam in order to get her clients to relax as much as possible.

Warming up. Afterwards, the actual massage will begin. According to Women’s Health, Phoenix will use anything from coconut oil to essential oils, and will typically start at the breasts and work her way down. This is only a warm up for what is called “The Ceremony,” which takes place after the exercises and the warm up massages.

Massage. When it’s finally time to do the “ceremony”, Phoenix will have her client put their legs over hers. Then Phoenix will put on a pair of gloves and begin to massage her client’s vagina. As she’s doing that, she’s making sure to ask how she’s feeling, and encouraging her to continue doing the breathing exercises throughout the massage.

Tension. The massage can get a little more intimate, with Phoenix going as far as to venture inside the woman’s vagina to feel for any tension that may be inside. And if you’re wondering whether a woman can get an orgasm through this— the answer is yes. However, Phoenix says it’s not the point of the massage.

Wisdom. Phoenix says she wants her massage to teach her clients what feels good to them and to give them some tips that they can use on their own. “The biggest benefit is that they feel a sense of embodied wisdom of what gives them pleasure,” says Phoenix, as reported by Women’s Health.

Boundaries. Because the massage is so intimate, not a lot of women are comfortable with every aspect of it. However, it’s for this reason that Phoenix makes sure to sit down with her clients before the actually massage so that they know what they’re getting themselves into, and talk about boundaries and what they are and aren’t comfortable with.

Consent. “It can go as far as women want it to go. She may just want her yoni held,” Phoenix tells Women’s Health. Phoenix also reassures her clients that the entire massage is professional and that she won’t do anything they don’t want her to. Consent is a very important part of the massages, and Phoenix is careful to respect all of her client’s wishes.

Clean hands. While the massage sounds pretty legit, how safe is it? For one, if your masseuse isn’t using clean hands, you might want to get out of there as soon as possible. But if you’re going to a professional, you can rest assured they’ll be doing a lot of hand washing prior to starting. Aside from relieving tension, the massage also provides other benefits.

Foreplay. According to expert Mary Jane Minkin, this massage could serve as foreplay if you’re planning on getting it on later that day. “Logically, anything that increases blood flow to the pelvis increases sensitivity, arousal, and lubrication, which could help with orgasms,” Minkin tells Women’s Health.

Warning. The only thing that Minkin says people should look out for when getting these massages, are the herbs and the steam being used. Your vagina is pretty sensitive, and the use of herbs could upset your pH balance, causing infection. What’s more is, the steam could also potentially burn your skin if the masseuse isn’t careful.

Benefits. This is the most delicate tissue on your body. You risk burning yourself,” says Minkin, as reported by Women’s Health. Minkin says that she’s not completely sure that this massage will help “release emotions”, as Phoenix promises, but she does think it could help improve your sex life.
