I’m willing to bet you’re probably not short of things to watch on Netflix right now.
We all go through quiet periods when we feel at a loss for what to do with our evenings or, if you’re like me, what to watch during your commute. But that quiet time is not here right now, after Netflix recently released every single episode of Stranger Things 2.
In fact, you should probably be bingeing on it right now instead of reading this – but we’ll allow it. There’s also an entire first season of hit new serial killer show Mindhunter for you to devour, along with new weekly episodes of more light-hearted dramas like Jane The Virgin and Riverdale. What did we do before Netflix, eh?
Anyway, your ‘must watch’ pile is about to get taller when you hear about the new murder mystery coming to your TV or laptop soon (via Netflix, of course). With a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, new show The Sinner is a brand new twist on the tired old ‘whodunnit’ format.

This time, we know who did it – and the show is trying to figure out why she did it. As The Toronto Star said in their review of The Sinner: “This series is not a whodunit; it’s a why’d-she-do-it. It’s such a clever conceit it leaves you asking why, too: Why hasn’t this been done more often?”
The ‘she’ in question is played by Jessica Biel – and she is a young mother who is overcome by an inexplicable fit of rage and commits a shocking murder. The mini-series is based on Petra Hammesfahr’s bestselling novel of the same name and is sure to go down a treat with everyone who watches it.
Be warned though. After the show premiered in the USA, many tweeted that it was so dark that they couldn’t get through the first episode…
