Woman Sheds Light On Abuse, Posts Graphic Photos After Boyfriend Beat Her For “Not Wanting Sex”

A mother-of-one has taken to social media to shed light on the realities of abusive relationships by posting gruesome photos of her battered face. These photos were taken after her partner of seven months attacked her in a fit of rage because she refused to have sex with him. The woman was left nearly unrecognizable after the attack and suffered multiple injuries, including some missing teeth and a broken jaw. The woman has bravely shared her story in the hopes that more women in abusive situations will have the courage to speak up and get help.

Do you think it was brave to share these photos? What are your thoughts on this? Share them with us in the comments below!

Attack. Stephanie Littlewood was brutally attacked just a few months ago by her partner Wayne Hoban after he was upset that Littlewood refused to have sex with him. The attack was so bad that it nearly killed Littlewood. She sustained many injuries, most visibly physical, but emotional and verbal as well.

Punches. Littleton said that Hoban had come home “in a foul mood” and after she refused his advances he threw her off the bed and walked away. But just moments later, Hoban was back and continued to attack Littleton by sitting on top of her and punching her in the face over and over again.

Unconscious. “Seconds later returning ragging the whole quilt off of me and throwing it onto the floor, gripping me by my ankle and pulling me off the bed, throwing me onto the floor he then sat on top of me and strangled me to the floor so [I couldn’t] move continuously punching me 40-50 times to the left side of my face breaking my jaw and knocking out 3 teeth (including a back one) also chipped my front top tooth! He knocked me unconscious & continued to beat me!” Littleton wrote on Facebook.

Surgery. Immediately after the attack, Littleton had to be rushed to the hospital, but months after the attack, Littleton is still awaiting reconstructive surgery for her bottom teeth, reports New York Mag. Littleton took photos of her face after the attack and while she was in the hospital which featured her with a giant black eye, missing teeth, and blood all over her face.

Dangerous. Littleton posted the photos to Facebook where she explained what happened and warned women of her community of how dangerous Hoban is. Hoban ended up going to court, where he was sentenced to 16 months in prison. Littleton’s post has gone viral and has been shared over 300,000 times on social media.

Aftermath. Despite the fact that Littleton got justice, she continues to suffer from the results of the abuse. “Every day I have to deal with the effects of what he’s done. Every time I brush my teeth I look in the mirror and see what he did to me,” said Littleton, as reported by the Dail Mail UK.

Confidence. Her teeth were also punched out in a way that the hole that was left is too small for a tooth to fit. Littleton says that the physical damage that she suffered has also left her with very little self confidence, and she refuses to go out because she suffers from so much anxiety.

Struggle. “Emotionally, I struggled and I nearly had a break-down. At first I didn’t want to go out— I had so much anxiety, it knocked my confidence loads. But people kept telling me I couldn’t hide away and it wasn’t my fault and I started to realize that they were right,” said Littleton, as reported by the Daily Mail UK.

Opening up. But now, Littleton says that opening up and speaking out about her experience has helped her recover and has also encouraged other women to come out about their abuse. Initially Littleton says that she was ashamed and embarrassed by what had happened, but now realizes it’s him who should feel shame.

Support. “It has helped me so much to come out and talk about what he did to me — the amount of support I have received has been overwhelming. I’ve also had other women who have suffered the same thing get in contact with me to tell me I have helped them to know they’re not alone,” said Littleton, as reported by New York Mag.

Release date. Despite Hoban’s 16-month sentence, Littleton fears that he might be out of prison after just eight months. If that does happen, Littleton might be forced to relive her nightmare again if she ends up running into him, and while Hoban only has a few months of prison, Littleton is left to suffer for a lifetime.

Suffering. “I’m still dealing with this on a day-to-day basis and it’s disgusting to think he’ll be out in two months’ time. I’ll still be suffering while he’s walking free,” said Littleton, as reported by Cosmopolitan.

Moving on. But whatever the outcome, Littleton will continue to hold her head up high and not hide in fear or allow Hoban to ruin her life any further. Hopefully with the help of her friends and family, Littleton will be able to move on and never have to see Hoban again.

No shame. “I posted the pictures online so everybody knows to stay away from him and so people are aware of it. I don’t have anything to be ashamed of – he’s the one who should be ashamed. I’m not hiding away,” said Littleton, as reported by Cosmopolitan.

You. If you or someone you know is in an abusive relationship, make sure you seek immediate help and remove yourself from any situations you might find yourself in that involve the abuser.
