After splitting the bill for their order, a McDonald’s customer said that the fast-food chain is “no longer affordable.”
Because of the cost of living crisis, energy and housing prices are reaching new highs, and everyone is seeing a huge rise in prices.
Even the price of food has gone up, which has one McDonald’s customer shocked.
They’ve even shown the receipt from their most recent order on TikTok.

On December 21, Christopher Olive went on the social media site and told his 336,000 followers how much he ended up spending.
His order was a Smoky Double Quarter Pounder BLT burger, large fries, and a Sprite, which seems like a pretty standard meal.
Olive’s fans were shocked when he told them it cost him $16.10.
The TikToker says in the clip:
So I get there’s a labour shortage, I get there are wage increases and a number of other things but… sixteen dollars?
Sixteen dollars for a burger, a large fries and a drink. It’s just crazy.
People have looked at the post more than 308,000 times, and the comments are full of their thoughts.
Five Guys prices at McDonald’s?!
one person questioned.
Another user said:
Sit down restaurant it is for that price.
It’s officially not convenient or affordable anymore, might as well go to the store and buy hamburger meat,
a third person commented.
Another person added:
McDonald’s prices have gotten out of hand, I stopped eating there a while ago, you can get cheaper food at a sit-down restaurant.
Can buy a week’s worth of the same ingredients at the store for that,
claimed a fifth.
Some people disagreed with Olive in the comments, saying that he ordered a more expensive meal on purpose to make a point.
One viewer said:
You got a Double Deluxe Bacon Quarter Pounder. Literally the most expensive option on the entire menu.
Bro ordered the most expensive meal they have and acted surprised,
added a second.
While a third insisted:
You got the most expensive thing on their menu.
Others gave advice, like ordering through the app, which has deals you can’t get anywhere else.
When McDonald’s raised the prices of its cheeseburgers for the first time in 14 years earlier this year, it got a lot of negative feedback.
McDonald’s said that the food item, which used to cost 99p, will now cost £1.19.
Prices went up for more than just the cheeseburger. Certain breakfast meals, the McNugget Share Box, and large coffees all went up in price as well.
