Just hours after Dax Tejera died, his wife was arrested. The executive producer for ABC News died on December 23, and his wife, Veronica Tejera, has now been arrested on two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. The married father of two died of a heart attack last Friday. It was a surprise. The death was “sudden,” according to the bosses at ABC News.
Booked On Two Charges.
After her husband died of a heart attack, Veronica was arrested on two counts of “acting in a way that hurt a child.” The NYPD spokesperson said that police were called to 50 Vanderbilt Avenue in Manhattan, NYC, at 11 p.m. on the night of his death because someone had called 911 to report “unattended children.” The building is home to the Yale Club, a hotel for members only.
Kids Left Alone.
A spokeswoman said that a 2-year-old girl and a 5-month-old girl were left alone inside the property and in a hotel room for an “extended period of time.” Even though we don’t know who the two babies are, they are exactly the same age as Veronica and Dax Tejera’s two daughters. The Tejeras live in MD, in the city of Chevy Chase.
‘Heavy Heart’ Goodbye.
Just a few days after Dax Tejera’s death, ABC News President Kim Godwin wrote in a memo sent on Christmas Eve,
It’s with a heavy heart and great sadness that we share that our friend and colleague, Dax Tejera passed away suddenly of a heart attack last night.
Kim continued,
As EP of This Week with George Stephanopoulos Dax’s energy, passion and love for that show, ABC News, and you, shined every Sunday morning. That same love was extended to his precious girls,
adding that thoughts are now with Dax’s two daughters.
On Christmas Eve, Kim Godwin, who works inside the ABC News network, told people that Dax Tejera had died.
