Hollywood is known for setting impossible beauty standards, especially for women, and more and more women are coming forward to talk about how they feel about getting older. One of them is Kate Winslet, who talked about the issue and said that she thought women get more daring and seductive as they get older.
Embracing The Process.
The actress who got her big break in the movie Titanic 25 years ago talked openly about getting older and gave encouraging advice to anyone in the industry who is being shamed for their body because of their age.
I’m 47, there are bits that don’t do what you want them to do anymore. And there’s something kind of fab about going, ‘Oh well, that’s just the way it is, isn’t it?’
Kate Winslet is letting nature take its course and making the best of her current situation with all the positivity she can find.
The Older, The Sexier.
Winslet disagrees with the idea that women get worse in their 40s and looks at the issue from a different point of view.
I think women come into their forties — certainly mid-forties — thinking, ‘Oh, well, this is the beginning of the decline and things start to change and fade and kind of slide in directions that I don’t want them to go in anymore.
The actress thinks that women in their 40s are even sexier and stronger, aren’t afraid to set the record straight, and just keep getting better in every way.
And I’ve just decided, no. We become more woman, more powerful, more sexy. We grow into ourselves more. We have the opportunity to speak our mind and not be afraid of what people think of us. Not care what we look like quite so much.
A Change In Her Looks And Roles.
The star of “The Mare of Easttown” also says that she has changed how she thinks about her looks and the roles she plays in her movies. She says that she now cares about bringing attention to serious social issues that people rarely talk about, and if that means looking like a mess half the time, she’s up for the challenge.
The ultimate aging secret of Kate Winslet
In an interview with British Vogue in 2021, the award-winning actress told the magazine her real secret to getting older: don’t be so tense and hard on yourself about everything. Getting older is a gift, she said.
For me, it’s about beauty coming from within and not being so self-critical.
We totally agree, and we want more people to look inwards and see the real beauty because that’s all that matters.
