Randy Gonzalez, the father of the popular TikTok duo Enkyboys, has died after a long fight with cancer.
A source close to the family says that Randy died Wednesday morning in hospice after a long battle with colon cancer, which he talked about often.
Randy told his fans about his illness in April. He said that he had been told he had about two to three years to live six months earlier. He said that chemotherapy could give people up to five more years of life.
After he said he was turned away from a cancer center at the University of Texas because they didn’t take his insurance, the viral star set up a GoFundMe to help pay for his treatments.
He and his son, Brice, used social media to raise awareness about colon cancer, and their warm relationship as father and son helped them get a lot of attention.
Randy gave his fans another update in November, telling them about everything he’d been through in just a few months. He hoped to be a good example in a year.
For those who don’t know, Brice got a spot on NBC’s “Lopez vs. Lopez,” where his character, Chance, made people laugh out loud.
Randy wasn’t even 35.
RIP.
