Dede Carraway and her husband told their daughter that they were expecting a baby. She was excited to have a sibling in her family.

The OBGYN allowed her to get involved once he realized that she was invested in the delivery.
The doctor told Jacee to come and help him deliver her brother. With the help of their doctor, Jacee put on scrubs and gloves.
The doctor let Dede’s daughter be involved.
“I couldn’t believe it. I was like, what? Uh, no. Never in a million years. But the doctor said, ‘I’m being serious. I’ll guide her hands and everything.’ So she got up in there and was suddenly in the middle of everything,” Dede told Shareably.
She made sure to catch her brother.
Jacee was very careful to make sure that her hands were stable as she prepared to catch her brother. The excitement on her face is clear. This is definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Dede didn’t have a question about letting her daughter in the room.
“She’s already had sex ed at school. I didn’t see any reason why she shouldn’t be there. I don’t hide anything from her and I think that the human body is natural and if she learned about it at school, there’s no reason why she shouldn’t learn about it at home, too. Seeing the emotions on her face, it was worth it,” the mom shared.
Some people thought it was too much.
Many people commented on Facebook that this was too much for a child to see and that it could cause some trauma. It was inappropriate for her to be in the room so close to it.
