2. Dogs’ saliva has healing properties.
This is one of those misconceptions that you should stop believing immediately. Dog’s saliva surely does not have any kind of healing properties. So never ever let your dog lick your wound or his wound. Not to mention, they eat food off the ground and don’t have any oral care routine. This means there’s a lot of germs.
3. The best food for dogs is raw meat.
Are you one of those pet parents who think raw meat is the best meal for dogs? If yes, you are sadly mistaken. We know dogs are closely related to wolves but they both sure do not share the same food habits. Since dogs have started living with humans for so long, they don’t like raw meat.
4. Fluffy dogs should be shaved in summer so they’re not hot.
Want to keep your dogs safe in summers? If yes, the first thing you gotta do is stop shaving them. Yes, you have read it right! Shaving a dog is not at all helpful because dogs have something called an undercoat that keeps them comfortable all the time. However, if your dog still feels hot, look for other ways to make him feel better.
5. Dog shoes are merely fashion accessories.
What are your thoughts on dog shoes? Do you think they are just for fashion or have some other purpose? Well, dog shoes are actually important and your furry friend needs them. Why? Because sometimes dogs paws are way more sensitive and they need extra protection.
6. You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.
If you have an old dog and want to teach him new tricks, go ahead. Do not listen to anyone who says an old dog cannot learn something new. Of course, old dogs need more time to understand but they won’t disappoint you at the end of the day.
7. If a dog is excited when the owner comes home, it means it loves them very much.

10. If a dog’s nose is dry, it means it’s sick.
Do not get unnecessarily worried if your dog’s nose is dry. If your dog is sick or not feeling well, you will see a change in his appetite. Also, a wet and runny nose does not mean that a dog is healthy. Try to look closely, if there is a crack or something else do something immediately because this indicated that your furry friend is sick.
11. Dogs need to chew on bones.
Never give your dog a boiled & long bone because he can easily chew it and might even end up swallowing sharp some pieces. So the best thing that you can do is give him a fresh bone that is hard or give him some other dog treat.
12. If a dog is wagging its tail, it means it’s friendly.

A wagging tail does not always mean that the dog is friendly or likes you. If you do not want to invite any kind of unfavorable situation, try to understand a dog’s behavior. If a dog is only wagging his tail and not doing anything else, stay away because he might attack you. But if a dog rolls around you, go pet him.
13. Stray dogs are healthier than purebreds.
Surely a stray dog has a good immune system and can adapt himself to any situation. But this does not mean that he doesn’t need to be vaccinated. Believe it or not but a disease that can kill a purebred might also kill a stray dog. Long story short- do not believe any myth that can cost you your dog’s life.
14. If a dog pees in your home, you should put its nose in the puddle.
If you don’t want your dog to pee inside the house, train him to do his business outside.
