At Kansas, Chase Elliott fetched the victory after feeling the pressure in closing laps as the playoff field was cut to eight from 12.
Elliott scored his 3rd career win when he held off Kyle Larson and Kyle Busch in final lap. He collected all the 3 wins in his last 11 races. Out of 267 laps he led in 44 and reached the finish line in 0.903 secs clearing Busch.
Brad Keselowski, Ryan Blaney, Alex Bowman and Kyle Larson are out of the contention for the 2018 championship since the driver field was cut down to eight from 12. The points were reset for remaining drivers and the round of eight ranking was drawn after applying their playoff points.
Eight drivers Elliott, Almirola, KyBusch, Truex, Logano, Bowyer, KuBusch and Harvick, who are still with a chance to win 2018 championship.
