The new display technology will make its debut with the 2020 iPad Pro (12.9-inch) and 2020 MacBook Pro (16-inch) in the third quarter of 2020 (July 1 to September 30) and the fourth quarter of 2020 (October 1 to December 31). Here are more details on how the mini-LED display tech works and other features such as 3D camera planned by Apple in their new products.
Mini-LED Display Technology in Apple Products
Mini-LED display technology is an important upgrade over the regular LED which TVs, Smartphones, and Laptops have been using for years. As per the name, mini LEDs are smaller LEDs and can fit more of the lights in the same panel area. It offers the advantage of dimming a particular area, the technique can be used to produce sharper pictures as small groups can be brightened or dimmed to their capacity.

Apple is planning to use a mini LED tech and localized dimming process in its 2020 iPad Pro and MacBook Pro. The other upgrades that Mini LEDs offer include a wide color range, high contrast ratios, and no OLED burn-in panels.
Apple iPad Pro with 3D Rear Camera System
Apple iPad Pro 2018 wasn’t much of an upgrade and had only little changes with bezels removed from the top. However, the upcoming 2020 iPad Pro is said to have a new 3D rear camera system in addition to the mini LED technology. As per the Bloomberg reports, the next iPad Pro will have two cameras on its rear side and a 3-D system that can create ‘three-dimensional reconstructions’ of objects.
While some of the leaked photos show a triple camera system on the back of the 2020 iPad Pro. Apple will launch the new tablet and laptop next year and until then all the leaks will be considered as rumors only.
