If you thought you were an avid comic book lover – REASSESS. You have tough competition. A New York man has crossed all limits with his love for robots. A tile contractor living in East Meadow, Long Island, names Curt Gray, has become the boss of Nassau County. Why you ask? The New York man built four 18-foot, glow-in-the-dark robotic sculptures! With immense proud in his creation, he displayed them on his front lawn on Chestnut Avenue.
Gray is a hardcore DC fan. He tells the media, “We get between five and 20 people stopping by a day. Kids won’t go to school unless their mom lets them see Batman, up close.” He is also a fan of the menacing Cyborg Superman who is a villain in his arc. Whenever I need a specific part for something, it somehow makes its way to me in some way or another. It’s like I think it into existence.”

Don’t let Gray confuse you. He is an environmentalist as well. Instead of buying new products, he uses recycled metals. This includes car grills, parts of Radio Flyer wagons, bases of stand-up basketball hoops, pieces of children’s beds, Razor scooters, and more. However, he is not alone in this escapade. Gray has full support from his wife who lets him show off his work on their front lawn.
Anne Marie Labianco says, “I appreciate that we don’t have a cookie cutter home. But, of course, it comes with compromise. Currently, Gray is on his next big project, i.e., building the most elite of robots – Optimus Prime. He says, “I just honestly love making these things. I’ll come home from work and be out in my backyard building until midnight. Once I get it in my head, I can’t stop until it’s complete,” said Gray, who is currently constructing an Optimus Prime. “The fact that so many people love them too just makes it even more special.”
