Do you ever wonder what happened to the players from that memorable roster? Today, we’ll take a look at the core contributors and see what they’re up to now.
Where Are The 2016 Golden State Warriors Members Today?
Steph Curry
It has been seven years since Steph Curry first hit the NBA, and he has not slowed down yet. He is still one of the greatest players in the league and still leads the Golden State Warriors. During the off-season, Curry has made the most of every opportunity, from winning golf tournaments to performing at a rock concert and even recording a rap song. He has truly done it all, as seen by his appearance on the show ‘Hot Ones.’
Klay Thompson
Klay Thompson rejoined the Golden State Warriors after having healed from two major injuries, and now he is once again ready to aid the team in their quest to take the 2022 NBA championship title. He is still the starting shooting guard for the Warriors. He is a five-time NBA All-Star, three-time NBA champion, and a two-time All-NBA Third Team member. Thompson is known for his efficient three-point shooting and his ability to play both ends of the floor.
Harrison Barnes
After a successful 2016 campaign with the Golden State Warriors, Harrison Barnes departed the team and has since played for the Dallas Mavericks and Sacramento Kings. In 2023, Barnes was a key part of the Kings squad that secured their return to the playoffs after a two-year absence.
Draymond Green
Draymond Green was drafted in the second round of the 2012 NBA Draft by the Warriors and went on to win three NBA championships with the team. He has recently inked an agreement with the Golden State Warriors that will probably keep him in the team for the rest of his time in the NBA.
Andrew Bogut
Andrew Bogut spent 70 games with the Golden State Warriors in their iconic season, but he soon found himself on the move as a journeyman centre. He played one more year with the Warriors in 2018-19, before returning to Australia to pursue a professional career. After calling it quits from basketball, Bogut retired and now dedicates his days to his family, his wife and children.
Andre Iguodala
Andre Iguodala’s eight-game run with the Golden State Warriors last year is reportedly not going to be extended. It is likely that the former Warrior will not return to the team for another shot at a title. In addition to his time on the court, Iguodala has been building an impressive resume off the court as well, having recently created a podcast with Evan Turner.
Brandon Rush
Brandon Rush, who had been a part of the Golden State Warriors before, spent one more season in the NBA. He was well-known for his three-point shooting and defensive ability. Now in the BIG 3, the former NBA wing player has continued to show his prowess on the court.
Festus Ezeli
Festus Ezeli was drafted 30th overall in the 2012 NBA draft by the Golden State Warriors. He was a key member of the Warriors’ 2014–15 championship team. He has been named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team and was an NBA champion in 2015. Since his retirement from the NBA, Festus Ezeli has taken on the role of NBA analyst for NBC Sports Bay Area, as well as hosting his very own podcast.
