On November 5, 2018, at the 37th annual induction ceremony for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, fourteen musicians were given the honor of being inducted.
Lionel Richie was a member of the class of 2022 who became famous as a solo artist, even though he first became famous as a co-lead singer for the Commodores, a legendary funk band.
Richie’s longtime girlfriend, Lisa Parigi, who is forty years younger than her boyfriend, was with him when they were in the spotlight.
Richie, who was 73 at the time, looked a lot younger than he was because he was wearing well-fitting black pants, a matching top, and a matching overcoat.
He also wore black boots and a gold chain around his neck.
The famous musician smiled widely and brightly the whole time they were on the red carpet, and he kept his arm around Parigi for almost the whole time they were there.
Several publications, including Hollywood Life, say that the couple has been in a serious relationship since 2014, even though they try very hard to keep their relationship a secret.
The 33-year-old model and designer showed off her statuesque figure in a white jumpsuit with no shoulders that flared out at the bottom of each leg.
The plunging neckline of the beautiful dress helped to draw attention to both her visible-enough cleavage and her bare shoulders.
Parigi also showed off her good sense of style by wearing a pair of long earrings that dangled from her earlobes and carrying a stylish, small purple purse.
She completed her look by getting her raven hair cut so that it was long, straight, and flowed down her back with a part in the middle.
The couple has been together for about nine years, but they don’t have any kids together. Richie does have three kids from his previous relationships, though. The singer and pianist’s first wife, Brenda Harvey, whom he had been married to for 18 years, gave birth to their daughter Nicole. Nicole is now 41 years old.
Also, the judge on American Idol has a 28-year-old son named Miles and a 24-year-old daughter named Sofia with his second wife, Diane Alexander. They were married from 1995 to 2003.
She was born and raised in Switzerland, where she still lives now. She is a model and a fashion designer, and she also runs the lifestyle blog Dream.Design.Discover.
‘She’s extremely beautiful, but most importantly she’s smart and helps me deal with my crazy world,’ the Three Times A Lady star gushed to People in 2019. ‘At this time in my life when you can be so jaded about things, [my girlfriend] Lisa kind of makes everything feel a bit safe.’
Richie’s first solo album just called “Richie,” came out in 1982, while he was still in the Commodores. Richie’s record company, Motown, suggested at the time that he start a solo career on the side.
The first single, “Truly,” went to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The second and third singles, “You Are” and “My Love,” went to numbers four and five, respectively, on the chart. This helped the album become popular, and it sold more than four million copies.
Richie left the Commodores soon after his first solo album did well, and his second solo album, Can’t Slow Down (1983), helped him become a global superstar almost immediately after that.
Can’t Slow Down was the number-one song on the US Billboard chart, and it went on to sell over 20 million copies. Five hit singles, including “All Night Long (All Night),” “Running With the Night,” “Hello,” and “Stuck on You,” were all from the same album. Two of them went to number one.
Richie went on to become one of the most successful singer-songwriters of his time and of all time. Dancing On The Ceiling, his third album also went to number one on the album charts.
The musician from Tuskegee, Alabama, has put out a total of ten studio albums. His most recent was called Tuskegee (2012). Because of how well these albums did, he has sold more than 100 million records all over the world, making him one of the most successful musicians ever.
Richie has won four Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year for the charity single “We Are the World,” which he wrote with Michael Jackson, and Album of the Year for “Can’t Slow Down.” Richie has won many awards over the course of his career, and these are just a few of them.
In addition to Richie, the following artists will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the Performer category in 2022: Dolly Parton, Pat Benatar, Duran Duran, Eminem, Carly Simon, and Eurythmics.
The Early Influence Award was given to Harry Belafonte and Elizabeth Cotten, and the Musical Excellence Award was given to Judas Priest, Jimmy Jam, and Terry Lewis. The hallowed halls now include both of these people.
Through the Ahmet Ertegun Award, Allen Grubman, Jimmy Iovine, and Sylvia Robinson also get into the hall.
Even though the ceremony took place on November 5, viewers will be able to see it in its entirety in two weeks. On November 19, at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, it will be shown on HBO and HBO Max.
