Richard Gere and his wife Alejandra Silva recently let the whole world see their 3-year-old son Alexander for the first time. Silva posted a picture of her family on Instagram last week. In the picture, the couple was just silhouettes, and their son, Alexander, wore pink pants, a cream-colored sweater, and bright green rain boots. The 73-year-old Pretty Woman actor and his 39-year-old Spanish publicist wife looked like they were jumping for joy in the background, raising their hands to show their young son how long their shadows were. In the photo’s caption, which Silva wrote,
Daddy, mommy and Alexander.
In 2018, after dating for more than three years and being engaged for a year, the couple finally got married in a small, private ceremony. At the time, Silva made the following announcement in writing:
Today is the day I married the most wonderful man I have ever met, I know it sounds cliché but it’s true!! Comes from my heart, I’m so proud to be with you, to share this life with you, to be the mother of our children, to be your friend, to be your Wife! You make me sooo happy! You are the love of my life.
ET Online says that this is the third time that actor Richard Gere has been married. His first marriage was to Cindy Crawford, which lasted from 1991 to 1995. His second marriage was to Carey Lowell and lasted from 2012 to 2016. The famous person has been married to Lowell for 22 years, and in that time they have had a son, Homer. People says that from Silva’s first marriage, she had a son named Albert, who is now 9 years old. Silva and Gere welcomed another son, who was born in April 2020.
Even though Silva and Gere have known each other for more than ten years, their relationship didn’t start until 2014. Even though they are 33 years apart in age, it doesn’t seem to bother either one of them. In a previous interview with Hola magazine, Silva said that both of them are interested in doing good things for other people.
Silva went with Gere to the RAIS Foundation in Madrid, which helps the homeless and poor people. Both Silva and Gere support the organization. This happened a few years ago when Silva went to Madrid to see her family’s estate.
Having his support makes me so happy,
Silva shared at the time.
During the interview, she told me that she is interested in the Buddhist religion.
I had the honor of meeting the Dalai Lama and I don’t have words to describe the experience. I can only say that being next to him gave me an incredible peace. It was magical,
she said.
Even though Silva lived in Madrid and Gere lived in upstate New York when they first started dating, they didn’t let the fact that they lived so far apart stop them from getting close.
I’ve always thought that long-distance relationships are complicated,
she shared.
But these days with all the technology we have, let me assure you that it’s much easier.
Silva also talked about how important love was to her, saying that it was one of her top priorities.
Who isn’t it important to? I think that the whole world deserves to live with love, in all its meanings. So, yes, love is fundamental in my life,
the Spanish businesswoman said.
