A Catholic group recently released a video game that resembles the popular mobile game POKEMON GO.
‘Follow JC Go’ is a Vatican based game where players get a task of collecting religious figures, signs, and saints and form an Evangelization team. According to a report given by an Italian newspaper, Corriere dela Sera, players do not have to attack saints and other biblical figures to collect them. A question will be asked to players and their answers will help them to collect the biblical figures which automatically be included to their team. A catholic evangelical group, Fundacion Ramon Pane, developed this game. He made the application as a part of their preparation for the World Youth Day which will be held in Panama on January 2019.
Ricardo Grzona, the executive director of Fundacion Ramon Pane, said that “You know, Francis is not a very technological person, but he was in awe, he understood the idea, what we were trying to do: combine technology with evangelization.” The application “Follow JC Go’ is available for Android and iOS device but only in Portuguese, Spanish, English, and Italian.
