English singer and songwriter Adele purchased Rocky star Sylvester Stallone’s gorgeous LA compound worth $58 million. The singer bought the compound from the American actor at a significant discount though she had one stern condition. What was it? Let’s find out!
What was Adele’s one condition before buying Sylvester Stallone’s House?
In December 2021, the English singer purchased Sylvester Stallone’s 3.5-acre mansion located in Beverly Park, California. The house was put up for sale for a whopping $110 million. However, the Grammy-winning artist bagged a huge discount and purchased the property for $58 million. Stallone had purchased the plot in 1994 and built a Mediterranean-style mansion sprawling 21,000 square feet.
According to Wall Street Journal, Stallone revealed that Adele had one strict requirement for finalising the house deal. He stated that he wanted to take the Rocky statue with him to his new home, but Adele would not sign the deal until it remained at the property.
‘That’s a no deal. That’s gonna blow the whole deal. She wanted the statue.”
The iconic statue was featured in the 1976 Rocky movie and Adele seemed to be a big fan of Stallone. She would not sign the deal unless the 76-year-old actor would agree to let her keep the statue. The house boasts 8-bed and 12-bath along with a cinema room, cigar room, built-in custom bar, infinity pool, and a spa, among other things.
Stallone has since moved to Palm Beach, Florida with his family in a 1.5-acre mansion that he purchased for $35.4 million in December 2020. The lush green property is spread across a 13,000-square-foot area facing the sea and surrounded by tall palm trees.
Adele Then Renovated the LA House
The 16-time Grammy winner singer has been renovating the LA house she purchased from Stallone. The house is undergoing a complete transformation and its second storey has also been torn down. While the renovation is in full swing and will give the property a whole new look, Adele has kept some features intact. The infinity pool remains untouched and so does the iconic Rocky statue that helped her seal the deal on the house.
The property is situated in an exclusive area of Beverly Hills mountains. Most celebrities who prefer avoiding the media attention and limelight choose to purchase properties in LA’s Beverly Hills. All the rich and fancy stars have set up camp in the exclusive neighbourhood atop a luxe hill in Los Angeles, California. Other celebs who reside in the premier neighbourhood include Jennifer Aniston, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Kendall Jenner, Katy Perry, Matt Damon, Rihanna, etc.
The singer-songwriter reportedly lives with her boyfriend, Rich Paul who is a well-known NBA agent. She had posted a picture of them together posing in front of the property holding the keys to the house in February 2022.
The renovation of the house has certainly got Sylvester Stallone’s stamp of approval. The actor shared with WSJ that he likes what the singer is doing with the renovations, he believes she’s “making it gorgeous.”
“I like what she’s doing; she’s making it gorgeous.”
We’re sure Adele must have been glad to get the nod of approval from the ex-homeowner himself. Seeing as she is a big fan of the actor, she has decided to keep the Rocky statue in its place and it will not be touched during the renovation. Although, the other statues that were around the pool have been uprooted. It remains to be seen what the singer has in mind for her renovation and fans are eagerly awaiting the big reveal. Once the renovation is complete, the singer will move into the house with her 41-year-old boyfriend and NBA sports agent, Rich Paul.
