AEW Dynamite goes to Canada this week for its Winnipeg debut as Winnipeg’s very own, Kenny and Jericho, will compete in the same match for Trios glory. Who will be Canada’s most loved? Also, Which Canadian will challenge jade for the TBS championship?
AEW Dynamite: Preview
You may have heard that Canadians are nice people. You may also have heard that Canadian pro wrestling fans are pretty great. But you better be certain that Canada has produced some of the best wrestlers. AEW Dynamite is debuting this week in Winnipeg, Canada and the card for this week is perfect for it. Expect the home crowd to tear the roof off.
This week’s episode of Dynamite will feature three championship matches, an MJF segment, a debut, and a trios match featuring Blackpool Combat Club and Hangman, along with his Dark Order buddies.
A huge 3-way trios match for the #AEW World Trios Title is SET for #AEWDynamite LIVE from Winnipeg THIS WEDNESDAY!
Newly-crown champs #HouseOfBlack put the title on the line against #TheELITE & #JerichoAppreciationSociety!

HOUSE OF BLACK(c) v THE ELITE v J.A.S. (Jericho, Sammy, Garcia) – AEW WORLD TRIOS CHAMPIONSHIP
Starring two of Canada’s favorite sons, Kenny Omega and The ELITE will face Chris Jericho and J.A.S, and the current champs ‘The House of Black’. The home crowd couldn’t have asked for any better as they will be divided as to who to cheer for.
The 52-year-old Jericho last wrestled in his hometown in 2009 while Kenny Omega has never wrestled in a televised match in Winnipeg. They both will be eager to put up a show for their fellow Winnipeggers. The last time Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega were involved in the same match was in the Stadium Stampede at AEW Double or Nothing 2020. Ah, the memories!
HOB has been on a roll ever since Malakai Black’s return. The Trios Championship match at Revolution 2023 was one of the best matches that night. The three-way trios’ championship match tonight will most likely be another high-octane affair.
TBS CHAMPIONSHIP
TBS Champion Jade is on a 54-0 streak. She has issued an open challenge to any Canadian wrestler. The only Canadian woman in the AEW roster is Allie (aka The Bunny) though she’s been out injured. There have been some suggestions that it could be Taya Valkyrie, who is currently a free agent, who will likely challenge Jade. Taya left Impact Wrestling a while ago. She, however, has been denying all the speculations. Beyond Taya, the likes of LuFisto and Nicole Matthews have been speculated.
Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Jeff Jarrett – AEW INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Tony Khan, in a weird corporate synergy with the release of Shazam: Fury of the Gods, has renamed AEW All-Atlantic Championship to the AEW International championship. Doesn’t quite roll off the tongue.
Jeff Jarrett is a hustler, and he has hustled his way into prominence in AEW. He’ll be challenging Orange Cassidy for the championship. It seems like a missed opportunity not to have a Canadian challenger for the new ‘International’ Championship which will be defended in Canada. It will still be a fun match to watch. The Double J Jeff Jarrett just delivers.
BCC (Moxley, Yuta, Claudio) vs. Dark Order (Evil Uno, Stu Grayson) with Hangman
Post his loss to Hangman at Revolution, Moxley properly unhinged himself last week when he unleashed his rage on Alex Reynolds. The Blackpool Combat Club went rogue. They turned heel. Claudio and Yuta have been tweening b*stards for a while now, and they joined Mox in the beatdown.
After the brutal Texas Deathmatch last Sunday, Hangman Adam Page explicitly stated that he was done with Moxley and even apologized to Renee Paquette. But Mox clearly isn’t done with him. In this week’s Dynamite, Hangman along with Evil Uno and Canada’s very own Stu Grayson will face The BCC in a trios match.
MJF’s Re-Bar Mitzvah
MJF beat one of the best in the world, Bryan Danielson, in an Ironman match at Revolution. Many doubted if MJF could even last the 60 minutes, let alone win the match without cheating. Dave Meltzer rated it 5.75 stars (MJF probably lost a star because he mocked Dave). The Salt of the Earth is now on top of the world. With March 15 being his birthday, MJF will celebrate his win with a Re-Bar Mitzvah. What kind of surprises can we expect? Also, Happy Re-Bar Mitzvah, Maxwell Jacob Friedman!

This week will also feature:
- We’ll hear from The Outcasts – which is what Saraya, Ruby Soho, and Toni Storm are calling themselves.
- The debut of QTV
All in all, this should make for an entertaining episode of Dynamite. Canada has a very loyal fan base, so the crowd will be on fire throughout the night.
