All Elite Wrestling makes its way to “Gateway of the West” St. Louis, Missouri with another stacked card of AEW Dynamite. Adam Cole makes his in-ring return after nine months. Plus, Kenny Omega is making his return to being the Best Bout Machine as he defends his IWGP U.S. Championship against Jeff Cobb.
AEW DYNAMITE: Preview
AEW has been on a roll lately with the matchups and slow-burner stories in the background. Hangman Page is pulling on everyone’s heartstrings again as he tries to reconnect with his former tag team partner, Kenny Omega. MJF might face his toughest challenge yet at Double or Nothing on 28 May 2023 in Las Vegas as his fellow “pillars” have all set their eyes on his gold, the AEW World Championship.
This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite features 2 championship matches, the in-ring return of Adam Cole, a trios match featuring Blackpool Combat Club, and 2 more singles matches. Let’s light the fuse!
Adam Cole vs Daniel Garcia
Brace yourself for the loudest “Boom” you will have heard in a while. Adam Cole will put on his tights after being out for nine months with a shoulder tear. The last time he stepped foot in the ring to wrestle was at Forbidden Door on 26 June 2022 when he took on Okada, Jay White, and Hangman for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Prior to the injury, Adam Cole proved his weight as an absolute workhorse. He was a mainstay on AEW Dynamite and Rampage ever since he debuted at All Out in 2021 till his injury.
Daniel Garcia on the other hand has improved leaps and bounds under Jericho. Yet, he still hasn’t been able to convince himself fully that he is purely a ‘sports entertainer’– evident from his back and forth on the microphone with Adam Cole last week. Being the pure technical pro-wrestler sports entertainer that he is, Garcia will look to work Adam Cole’s shoulder. No doubt, this will be a quality match and it’s just great to hear the crowd yell “ADAM COLE! BAY! BAY!” at the top of their lungs.
"This isn't just my return match; this is a STATEMENT."@adamcolepro is BACK #BAYBAY, and he takes on #JerichoAppreciationSociety’s @garciawrestling on #AEWDynamite LIVE from St. Louis, THIS WEDNESDAY at 8pm ET/7pm CT on @tbsnetwork! pic.twitter.com/nsdrytRjYX

Kenny Omega (c) vs Jeff Cobb – IWGP U.S. HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Just a week after having a 5-star match against El Hijo del Vikingo on last week’s AEW Dynamite, Kenny Omega will be in action in a singles match this week against a human tank, Jeff Cobb. Kenny wrestling two singles matches on successive weeks of AEW Dynamite bodes well for all pro wrestling fans. Who doesn’t love the Big Bout Machine? Kenny, however, is also having to deal with his problems against BCC and importantly, Hangman Adam Page. It’s no surprise to see Don Callis be such a pr*ck and get in between the two former best friends and tag team partners.
Jeff Cobb has been rolling over opponents in NJPW with his comrades from ‘United Empire’. The last time Jeff Cobb featured in AEW Programming was in the Forbidden Door when he and Great-o-Khan lost their IWGP tag team championships to FTR in a 3-way match. Cobb is an exciting powerhouse with great athleticism. You’ll be surprised to know he’s 40 years old!

Orange Cassidy(c) vs The Butcher – AEW INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
‘Freshly Squeezed’ Orange Cassidy will defend his championship for the sixteenth time in all and the fourth time in the month of March alone! OC has proved his work rate but one starts to wonder that his reign might see an end soon. The Butcher will look to capitalize on Cassidy’s fatigue and try to get his first championship in AEW. If anyone’s wondering how Orange Cassidy hasn’t tired out yet, it could probably be because he drinks freshly squeezed Orange Punch every day.

Blackpool Combat Club vs Dalton Castle and The Boys
Every once in a while in AEW, an unlikely unit becomes a lovable stable for no solid reason. Partly because of how great the fanbase is! Dalton Castle and The Boys have been receiving the crowd’s love on AEW Dark and Elevation these past few weeks. So now, BCC has a new set of likable people to beat up this week. Moxley though has his eye set on destroying Hangman Page and the Elite. BCC sent Matt and Nick to the hospital after injuring their arms last week. Everything seems like it’s leading to a huge blow-over match. Mox is turning more sadistic with each passing week. Probably the consistent loss of blood is finally catching up to him.
The #BlackpoolCombatClub's @JonMoxley, @ClaudioCSRO & @WheelerYuta are on a mission to wreak havoc everywhere they turn.
Will Dalton Castle & The Boys be prepared for their agenda of violence THIS WEDNESDAY at #AEWDynamite?

Ruby Soho vs Willow Nightingale
One of the prominent storylines in AEW right now is the Homegrown vs Outcasts in the women’s division. Ruby has gained a breath of fresh air ever since she joined hands with Saraya and Toni Storm. Her promos have been more believable and she feels like a great fit in the group. Willow Nightingale, on the other hand, is one of the most likable wrestlers on the AEW roster. Williow and Ruby were friends before Ruby betrayed everyone. So, expect the boos to be much louder this week on AEW Dynamite.

Jack Perry vs Matt Hardy
The Firm has slowly turned from heels to lovable goofs. Last week’s FTW championship match between Hook and Stokely was a comic relief. Stokely debuted, retired, unretired, and retired again – all on the same night. What a Legend! Matt Hardy and Ethan Page have been working hard on AEW Dark. Ethan has been moody lately and Matt is trying his best to turn the ‘frown upside down’. That aside, Jack Perry has set his eyes on MJF’s AEW World Title. Last week we saw Darby look at the Double or Nothing sign. Will this week be Jack Perry’s turn?
Get ready for another great episode of AEW Dynamite coming our way this week which will lead to an even more exciting episode next week as FTR put their AEW careers on the line for the AEW Tag Titles against the Gunns.
