OnePlus’ Bullets Wireless 2 earphones give a tough competition to Apple AirPods 2. While both of them come under the category of “true wireless earphones”, they both still have their subtle differences. Here is a brief comparison between AirPods 2 and Bullets Wireless 2, to help you make your decision.
Sound Quality
Apple AirPods 2 focuses mostly on the heavy bass and vocal sound features. The details in a song are heard clearly and it never feels harsh to the ears. Apple AirPods 2 are basically made for calling purpose and nominal music listening. There have been several complaints of external noise, but again the design of AirPods 2 doesn’t provide a tight grip.
Bullets Wireless 2 from OnePlus have a quite good sound quality compared to its predecessor. The three-unit dispersion system provides clear and loud audio on all frequencies. The mic quality during calls falls down a bit in bullets wireless 2 due to its round design. Overall noise cancellation effects are good and sound is steady in OnePlus Bullets Wireless 2.

Build Design
Apple AirPods 2 are almost similarly build as the first gen AirPods, without any trace of wire. The two earbuds are not connected to each other, feels light and easier to put on. One drawback for AirPods 2 is the constant fear that it will fall down when you are moving rapidly. While the build quality is amazing and Apple AirPods 2 feels premium to its core.
We can’t say that OnePlus Bullets Wireless 2 is totally a set of wireless earphones. They do indeed contain a wire connecting them, although not in the traditional sense. Bullets wireless 2 uses a magnetic control system to pause or resume music and no buttons. There are no grip issues, as bullets wireless 2 uses a round neck design.
Battery Life
Apple claims that AirPods 2 provides 5 hours of listening and 3 hours of talk time when fully charged. It comes with an additional charging box which extends its battery life by 24 hours. AirPods 2 can be charged for just 15 minutes to have usage of 3 hours.
OnePlus Bullets Wireless 2 offers 8 hours of music playback time along with 10.5 hours of calling talk time. OnePlus also claims that during their lab test, just by charging Bullets Wireless 2 for 10 minutes, it provided 10 hours of music listening time.
Additional Features
Apple AirPods 2 can be instantly connected to Apple iPhone, Apple Watch, and iPad. With the inclusion of the new A11 chip, AirPods 2 also supports the ‘Hey Siri’ functions. Users can now directly give commands to the AirPods 2 without reaching to their iPhones.
Bullets Wireless 2 can also be paired up with Google Assistant in OnePlus and other Android phones. There is no other additional support system of its own, and also while connecting to iPhone, Bullets Wireless 2 misses out the AAC and behaves like a normal SDB earphone.
Availability and Price
AirPods 2 were released by Apple at the end of the month March and are easily available across all major Apple stores. The normal AirPods 2 costs £$159, and if you want to buy the wireless charging case box, together it costs $199.
OnePlus has only announced their new bullets wireless 2 earphones and they are yet not out. Bullets wireless 2 will be released on May 21 at exclusive OnePlus stores and website. While the first Bullet Wireless earbuds were priced at a bare $69, the latest model Bullet Wireless 2 will cost you $99, which is still much less than AirPods 2.
Final Verdict
AirPods 2 or Bullets Wireless 2 is a tough thing to decide even after comparing every feature. The final point comes down to your requirements, budget and which phone do you use. Although Bullets Wireless 2 provides much more in a low price compared to AirPods 2, it is basically useless for iPhone. Surprisingly, AirPods 2 can be easily paired with any Android phone and still deliver the same quality sound.
If you have a fixed Android phone and not are not planning to move to Apple iOS, we suggest you buy Bullets Wireless 2. It will provide excellent grip and much better sound quality. For all the iPhone users, you can go on with AirPods 2 or the new Powerbeats Pro, if you have a rough use.
