Apple AirPods 3 could arrive in the form of AirPods Pro Lite as various reports are claiming that the Cupertino giant is working on the cheaper budget earbuds. The next AirPods models could be targeted towards the mid-range market, just like the upcoming iPhone SE 2.
This “AirPods Pro Lite” rumor is odd. A simple passing mention in a Digitimes story gaining traction. AirPods Pro Lite = regular AirPods of course. Next rumor: iPhone 12 Pro Lite.

Although the name should be AirPods Lite instead of Pro Lite, then again there are some errors in the early rumors. Here are more details on the AirPods Pro Lite rumors and why is Apple planning to launch cheaper earbuds in the market.
AirPods Pro Lite Rumors: Cheaper Version of AirPods Pro
Apple has been planning to launch a cheaper model of AirPods ever since they released AirPods Pro last fall. The company surprised everyone by launching two AirPods in the same year. While the AirPods 2 only had a little increment in price, AirPods Pro were costly as hell at $249, which is higher than the price of several flagship smartphones. Despite that, AirPods Pro have become a huge success due to its sleek look and amazing noise cancellation features.

Ever since that, reports are coming up that Apple is working on AirPods Pro lite by various publications but there is no solid evidence to support the claim. However, the word ‘Lite’ has been mentioned in every rumor indicating that Apple AirPods Lite might be a reality very soon. Apple offering cheap and entry-level earbuds could change the market and also solve the stock issues for AirPods Pro.
AirPods Pro Stock Issues at Apple
Apple AirPods Pro Lite or simply AirPods Lite are much needed in the market right now as the Pro earbuds are mostly out of stocks. Apple is having a hard time maintaining the production schedule as there is so much demands for AirPods Pro.
The lighter version of AirPods will also enable Apple to easily cut the cord and remove headphone jacks from each of their products. AirPods Lite might not have the active noise cancellation features and will use some low-quality yet solid material.
