Muichiro, the youngest Hashira in The Demon Slayer.
In episode 9 of the Demon Slayer season 3 anime, fans were able to see the youngest Hashira in his best form. The episode started with Muichiro’s past and ended with him defeating one of the high-rank demons solo.

The episode focuses on the different mist-breathing techniques the young Hashira uses and how he developed them. Muichiro’s past revealed that he was one among the gifted descendants of the upper moon rank 1 demon Kokushibo. Muichiro is a descendant of the swordsmen that developed the first form of breathing. Muichiro’s abilities are shown in a flashback. Muichiro and his twin brother Yuichiro, after having lost their father and mother on the same night, grow distant from one another as their views on the world differ greatly.
The brothers get attacked by a demon one hot summer night and Yuichiro ends up end from the encounter. Muichiro in order to save his brother’s life in a fit of rage kills the demon and develops amnesia. Lady Amane Ubuyashiki finds the two brothers and saves Muichiro. This shows that Muichiro was a gifted swordsman. The young lad then trains till he vomited blood and built his way to be an Hashira in just two months of him lifting a sword for the first time.
Could Muichiro have beaten Akaza?
The anime fans that discovered Muichiro’s abilities now question if Muichiro could have beaten Akaza. Most fans speculate that the answer could be yes. Given his abilities, Muichiro could have at least Fought Akaza till the sun came out. But SOme fans have refuted this claim. Given that Muichiro is a prodigy he still lacks the physical strength that is needed in order to kill an Upper moon demon.
The manga reader has pointed out that Muichiro gets killed by the first upper moon Kokushibo. He is still years back in training and strength to have beaten Akaza. Rengoku was one of the strongest Hashiras stronger than Muichiro. He fought two upper moons on the same day and held his own and managed his kill one of them. In his weakened form Akaza found Rengoku and attacked him.

If Muichiro is touched, its all over. Even with a mark, his body isn’t taking Akaza’s sheer physical. Muichiro fighting Kokushibo resulted in instantly missing an arm when Kokushibo drew his sword. Muichiro couldn’t even touch him. There is no doubt he’d lose to Akaza. Giyu had the experience, strength, and aptitude of defense to win.
Muichiro is a prodigy. If he was the same age as the others, he’d be the strongest due to his aptitude at a young age. Not taking away from Muichiro, Akaza is a serious monster, unlike Gyokko, who was an arrogant, stupid, lame joke.
