Oscar-nominated Alec Baldwin, 62, who was accused of two counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the fatal 2021 on-set shooting that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the film ‘Rust’ in New Mexico, can now breathe a sigh of relief as the charges were dismissed. The 65-year-old actor quickly moved to Instagram to praise his 39-year-old wife Hilaria, whom he has been married to since 2012, writing, “I owe everything I have to this woman.” Hilaria also shared a photo of herself and her husband with a red heart emoji following the judgement.
Hilaria Baldwin, Baldwin’s wife, has been a staunch supporter of him during his trial. He chose to praise her for her persistent support and patience because she has frequently spoken out against his critics online. Why? Here are a few examples of why Baldwin values her help.
Hilaria spoke out for Alec Baldwin after ‘Rust’ shooting in October 2021
Days after the incident, Hilaria addressed her fears about Alec Baldwin developing Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). At the time, she and her family drove to Vermont from their home in New York City. She told, “I didn’t know where I was going, I just drove. I just drove around and around and around with my kids. I drove around for an entire day trying to find a place,” as per New York Post. She further stated, “I brought [Alec Baldwin] up here because we have to mourn Halyna’s death.” “Alec Baldwin had a really traumatic thing happen, and I am trying to limit the PTSD. You look at what happens to soldiers and police officers when something like this happens, it’s traumatic. We just came up here for quiet. He needs space for me to take care of him and his mental health. It’s an awful thing that happened,” she explained. She also shared a picture of them on Instagram and wrote, “I love you and I’m here.”
‘Alec, we love you’
Hilaria shared a message of gratitude and support for her husband Alec Baldwin in a post just hours before prosecutors charged him with involuntary manslaughter. She wrote, “I hope you understand how much your support and kindness to Alec Baldwin and our children mean. Thank you for being our community and our village. You are helping us to be stronger parents and partners during this unimaginable time, stemming from such heartbreaking tragedy. Please know that I hear all of your outspoken words and each and every one of you reminds me daily that there is kindness in the world and we are not alone. Alec, we love you and we are here for you.”
‘Leave my family in peace’
On January 20, 2023, the day after it was reported Alec Baldwin would be charged, she and her children got surrounded by a mob of reporters. However, she confronted them saying, as per Stylecaster, “I want you guys to realize we have seven kids and you being here to escort them to school and to be there when they come home is not good,” and continued saying, “So on a human level, you guys know I’m not going to say anything to you. You know that. So please, leave my family in peace and let this all play out, OK? Let me kids come home and stay away from them. Because they ask me, ‘Mommy, what are all these people doing?’ and that’s a very hard thing as a mom to try to explain. So please, go home because I’m not going to say anything.”
