Ali Wong may be one of the world’s most talked-about celebrities right now, but that doesn’t mean she’s simply like the rest of us… a fan of Keanu Reeves.
The 40-year-old actor and comedian is on everyone’s lips because of the success of her new Netflix program, Beef (which some viewers are calling the “best show ever”). Ali Wong is everywhere right now, whether explaining why she always appears to be pregnant or just giving ladies some crucial dating advice.
Despite being a legitimate star in her own right, she adores Matrix actor Keanu Reeves just as much as the next person.
Fortunately for Ali Wong, she was able to collaborate with the 58-year-old Hollywood icon on her 2019 film Always Be My Maybe. Not only that, but she got to KISS Reeves as part of her role… a role she created.
Ali Wong wrote Yes, Always Be My Maybe, which depicts her character rekindling her romance with a past young fling.
Throughout the film, her character has s*x with a number of male actors, which she publicly acknowledged in her 2019 interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“I kiss a lot of men,” she told the host. “It’s like, who wrote this movie, right? “I kiss a lot of s*xy men. I kiss Daniel Dae Kim. I kiss Keanu Reeves.”
Ali Wong even revealed that she persuaded Netflix to spend extra money on the film in order to secure those big-name stars.
“I basically made Netflix spend all this money on a movie just so I could kiss Daniel Dae Kim and Keanu Reeves,” she told Ellen.

Wong also joked that she had no trouble conjuring up the on-screen chemistry required to convincingly kiss Reeves and Dae Kim because she had been married to her then-husband Justin Hakuta for a decade at the time the film was shot.
“I’ve been dating the same guy for ten years. “At this point, I’d have chemistry with a turtle,” she joked. (Unfortunately, Ali and Justin ended their romance in 2022. They have two daughters.)
Reeves appears in the film for a brief appearance as himself, but it is a funny moment, especially given how far Wong went to get the star.
Speaking of Keanu Reeves and kissing, the popular actor and his girlfriend, Alexandra Grant, recently walked the red carpet at the Museum of Contemporary Art Gala in Los Angeles, where they shared a beautiful PDA:
Who could blame Wong for doing everything she could to catch Reeves?
