It raises an important question of whether Alita sequel will introduce a new love interest for the titular character or they simply move on from a romantic angle in the story. Here are more details on Alita: Battle Angel 2 possible, release date, plot spoilers and Disney’s response on fan demands for the sequel.
Alita: Battle Angel 2 Story: Alita to get a New Boyfriend?
Alita: Battle Angel sequel will explore the City of Zalem which was previously teased in the first movie. The character of Hugo and Dr. Ido (Christopher Waltz) was mainly introduced to establish the human nature of cyborg Alita and how she’s affected by emotions. There is no need to establish another love interest or boyfriend for Alita in the second movie as she’s capable of fighting villains on her own.
Further, we might have seen Hugo falling down to his death, but a dead body was never shown. It is common in manga and comics to bring back dead characters and we haven’t even seen the corpse of Hugo. Also, Alita: Battle Angel takes place in future and cybernetic enhancements are a big part of the storyline. Hence, fans can expect Alita and Hugo to romance once again in Alita sequel movie.
