Alita: Battle Angel 2 has still not been renewed by Disney but fans are hoping that the online petition will convince the studio soon. The Alita army also flew a banner in support of Alita sequel during the Oscars 2020 and it made headlines all over the world.
I just saw Alita battle angel and omg it is just amazing, one of the best movies I’ve seen (couldn’t expect less from James Cameron) can’t wait for part 2. I’m obsessed where are the Stans? 🤩🥳#AlitaSequel #AlitaBattleAngel

While the release date and official announcement will still take some time, the creators are working on Alita 2 script. The latest fan theory talks about another Motorball tournament in Alita: Battle Angel 2 and more plot spoilers once Alita (Rosa Salazar) reaches Zalem.
Alita: Battle Angel 2 Plot Spoilers and Theories
Alita: Battle Angel movie focused a lot on the motorball tournament as it was the only way Alita could reach to Zalem. In the end, Alita won the motorball championship and pointed her sword towards the sky in the direction of Zalem. Nova (Edward Norton) was seen smirking and it also proved that he will be the main villain in Alita: Battle Angel 2.
The Motorball race was a very important part of Alita’s storyline as it showed her skills and powers as a cyborg and also focused on some of her past life. The tournament for cyborgs was the only way for Alita to reach Zalem without breaking any laws. James Cameron earlier said that he wants the Motorball tournament to be an important part of Alita sequel but the entire process has been changed after so many years.
It would be repetitive if the motorball race is feature again in Alita 2 as the first movie had enough race scenes. Alita has now access to Zalem and she will take revenge from Nova in Alita: Battle Angel 2, there is no need for more races and the sequel should introduce some new kind of future sports.
Why is Alita Sequel still not Confirmed?
Alita: Battle Angel sequel is not that easy to renew after Disney has acquired 20th Century Fox studios. The whole deal is very complicated and it will take time for certain movies to start production due to rights issues between the different production houses.
Further, the first Alita movie barely made any profits and Disney might not be willing to take a risk. Although, the recent fan support and digital media sales might convince that they should confirm Alita: Battle Angel 2 as the sequel will be a huge success now.
