Fans of American Horror Story have threatened to boycott the show after Kim Kardashian confirmed she would join the season 12 cast.
The 42-year-old mother of four shared the shocking news on her Instagram page on Monday morning, along with a teaser clip that was also released on the official American Horror Story Instagram.
But the surprise announcement did not please everyone, and many die-hard fans turned to social media to express their displeasure with the decision.
They even vowed to forgo the entire season to avoid Kim Kardashian, calling the announcement a “real horror story.”
‘Kim Kardashian starring?’ said one. What the hell did I just read? That is the most terrifying aspect of the AHS franchise.’
‘Whew, thanks for the heads up!’ said another. Now I know I’m going to forego this season totally’.
‘Nobody asked for Kim, guess it’s about to be a genuine horror story,’ wrote a third.
‘I will not support any Kardashian/Jenner business, and this counts,’ said a fourth. I’m finished’.
‘Please don’t do this,’ pleaded a fifth.
‘If a Kardashian is in it, I’m officially giving up on this show,’ wrote a sixth.
Despite the fact that American Horror Story has a lengthy history of casting celebrities, the accusations continue.
The Countess, a blood-sucking vampire in AHS: Hotel, was one of Lady Gaga’s first acting roles.
The series has also featured appearances by supermodel Naomi Campbell, singer Steve Nicks, and Adam Levine of Maroon 5.
Some defended Kim Kardashian, saying, ‘I’ll give it a shot to see what Kim can do. We’ll see. I was pleasantly pleased by Lady Gaga in Hotel, so we’ll see. ‘It’s great to have Emma back!’
The scary footage did not feature Kim Kardashian but it contained spooky music with the words: ‘AHS12. Kim Kardashian and Emma Roberts are both delicate. This coming summer.’
The clip featured a woman’s body in the backdrop, but it’s unclear whether it was supposed to depict her or Emma.
Kim Kardashian did not say in what capacity or if she is portraying herself, but The Hollywood Reporter broke the news shortly after the celebrity made the revelation.
Kim previously appeared on Keeping Up With The Kardashians for 114 episodes over 20 seasons from 2015 to 2021.
Kim also hosted Saturday Night Live in 2021, which led to an almost year-long engagement with Pete Davidson.
Kim Kardashian debuted in the music industry in 2012 with her single Jam (Turn it Up).
Kim created the hugely successful lingerie, shapewear, loungewear, and sleepwear business SKIMS in 2019.
