Seeing @AdaVox and @MaddiePoppe support each other after American idol just melts my heart. You are both so amazing and honestly true idols in my eyes😍 I miss watching #AmericanIdol and seeing you both grow to be such awesome individuals.

Is American Idol really coming to an end?
The numbers may not paint the true picture of the story. The singing show had a major win on Easter Sunday. It was the only show that made it above 1.0 rating.
American Idol had better ratings than several other shows, which air on Sunday and Monday nights. The Academy of Country Music Awards was the only show that had better ratings than American Idol.

The show’s ratings went down due to a particular episode where an in-depth look was taken at each contestant. As there were no eliminations, the show was less dramatic. So it might not be as enticing for the fans at home.
