Amitabh Bachchan’s Twitter handle seems to have been hacked. While nothing has been confirmed by the actor’s PR team or Twitter, it seems that the hack has been carried out by pro-Pakistani Turkish hackers.
Who hacked Amitabh Bachchan’s Twitter?
The hackers changed Amitabh Bachchan’s Twitter DP to that of Pakistan’s current Prime Minister, Imran Khan. They also changed the bio to “Actor … well at least some are STILL saying so !! Love Pakistan”.
The hacker group also posted a couple of tweets which have now been deleted. The first tweet read:
“This is an important call to the whole world! We do condemn the irrespective behaviors of Iceland republic towards Turkish footballers. We speak softly but carry a big stick and inform you about the big Cyber attack here. As Ayyıldız Tim Turkish Cyber Armny +++,”
Whereas the second tweet read:
“The Indian State, who mercilessly attacks the Muslims fasting in the month of Ramadan, is attacking the Ummah Muhammad in this age! Indian Muslims are entrusted to us by Abdulhamid.”
This isn’t the first time that a Bollywood celebrity has been hacked. Not too long ago, Twitter handles of Shahid Kapoor and Anupam Kher were also hacked by the same group of Turkish hackers.
Amitabh Bachchan has reportedly approached Mumbai Police regarding the hack. They have released an official statement saying that they have forwarded this case to their cybercrime branch and are investigating.
“We have informed our cyber unit and Maharashtra Cyber about *hacked* Twitter account of @SrBachchan. They are investigating the matter. Further updates awaited.”
