Andrew Lloyd Webber has shared the sad news that his oldest son, Nick, has died.
The sad news came after the famous playwright said earlier this week that Nick, who was only 43 years old, had been moved into a hospice as he fought gastric cancer. He was given the terrible news 18 months ago.
Now, Nick’s 75-year-old father announced on Twitter that Nick died on Saturday (March 25).
I am shattered to have to announce that my beloved elder son Nick died a few hours ago in Basingstoke Hospital,
Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote.
His whole family is gathered together and we are all totally bereft.

Andrew Lloyd Webber posted on Instagram earlier this week that he wouldn’t be able to attend the opening night of “Bad Cinderella” in New York City because he was staying in England to be close to Nick.
The famous playwright said in his video that Nick had just gotten over “the worst of this first bout of pneumonia he got because of his cancer.” The proud father also said that he would “pass on all of the great wishes” from supporters.
Nicholas “Nick” Lloyd Webber became a talented composer like his father. He worked on The Little Prince and his father’s Symphonic Suites.
After hearing the sad news of his death, many celebrities and fans took to social media to honor Andrew Lloyd Webber’s son.
Nicole Scherzinger, a member of the band Pussycat Dolls, replied to her Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Instagram post by writing:
My heart breaks for you and your family. I am so so sorry Andrew. Sending my love and prayers.
