Greta Thunberg vs. Andrew Tate rivalry is the latest talk of the town, where the former was taunted on Twitter, and the latter later ended up getting arrested shortly after.
Greta Tintin Eleonora Ernman Thunberg, shortly known as Greta Thunberg, was born on 3rd January 2003 (19yo of age) and is a Swedish climate activist who won numerous awards for her activism.
Who is Andrew Tate?
Emory Andrew Tate III is a 36-year-old American and British businessman, social media personality, and former professional kickboxer. Andrew is known online for his “Alpha male” personality and spreads his problematic and misogynistic views on Social media platforms. Mainly targeting his content to young boys and adult incels.
Andrew’s Twitter account got banned in 2017 for his statement on the #metoo moment. He said that women bear responsibility for putting themselves in a position to be assaulted. Some of his other controversial statements include women are men’s property and have no innate responsibility or honor.
Andrew was kicked off from British Big Brother after a video surfaced online of him assaulting a Slovakian woman in 2016, soon after he moved to Romania in 2017 because, according to him, it was easier to get away with sexual assault charges, and the government there is pretty dysfunctional.
The Twitter spat between Greta Thunberg and Andrew Tate
In November last year, Andrew had his account reinstated by Twitter. A peculiar turn occurred when Andrew tweeted at Gerta Thunberg unprompted on December 27, 2022.

This caused Twitter to blow up. Many influential celebrities and reasonable people started taking sides with Greta and praising her for her “sick burn”

Andrew replied after a ten hour hiatus by uploading a video of himself wearing a red robe, smoking a cigar with some pizza boxes on full display talking about how he likes his pizza in unrecycled boxes.

Andrew gets arrested!
According to a statement from a Romanian anti-organized-crime unit on December 29 th , both the Tate brothers, Andrew and Tristen, were arrested after a raid on two Romanian properties and detained for charges of rape, human trafficking, and forming an organized crime group. Andrew and Tristan Tate have been under criminal investigation since April.
The internet speculated that he was arrested because the Pizza boxes in the video (from a Romanian pizza chain) alerted the authorities that he was in the county. However, a Washington Post reporter tweeted on Friday that authorities indicated the pizza box did not contribute to Andrew’s arrest.

The authorities on 30th December 2022 requested a thirty-day extension for the arrest.
