According to Variety, Angelina Jolie will be writing, directing, and producing her next movie, “Without Blood,” which will star Salma Hayek Pinault and Demian Bichir.
Angelina Jolie is making the movie with super-independent Fremantle.
In March 2022, she signed a three-year deal with Fremantle to make international movies together. Variety also says that the main filming for the movie has already started in Rome and the southern Italian regions of Puglia (Apulia) and Basilicata.
The movie, which is Angelina Jolie’s fifth as a director, is based on the same-named international best-selling novel by Italian author Alessandro Baricco. It takes place after an unidentified conflict. It is said to look at “universal truths about war, trauma, memory, and healing.” Hayek Pinault and Bichir will be in the movie with actors and crew from all over the world.
Angelina Jolie said in a statement that ‘Variety’ got a hold of,
I’m honoured to be here in Italy to bring this very special material to film, and to have been entrusted by Alessandro Baricco with the adaptation of his book – with its unique poetry and emotion and way of looking at war, and the questions it poses about what we search for after trauma or loss or injustice.
The movie is made by Fremantle, Jolie’s production company, Jolie Productions, Lorenzo Mieli’s The Apartment Pictures, which is backed by Fremantle, and Lorenzo De Maio’s De Maio Entertainment. The movie will be distributed worldwide.
Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek have worked together before, so this is not their first time. For those who don’t know, they’ve both worked on Marvel’s Eternals. It was also their first time in the MCU.
