Anthony Bass, an MLB player has called out United Airlines after a staff member allegedly made his wife clean up the mess made by their 2-year-old daughter.
Even when you don’t have kids with you, flying can be stressful. When you do have them with you, things can get harder.
Anthony Bass, a pitcher for the MLB’s Blue Jays, took to Twitter to talk about how his wife was treated on a recent flight.
Anthony Bass penned:
The flight attendant @united just made my 22 week pregnant wife traveling with a 5 year old and 2 year old get on her hands and knees to pick up the popcorn mess by my youngest daughter. Are you kidding me?!?!

Even though we all know that kids make a mess wherever they are, people started arguing in the comments about who should clean up.
One person questioned:
Genuinely curious who should clean up the mess your 2 year old made? As a parent of three kids I am the one responsible for them.
A fair question and Anthony Bass’ answer was:

United Airlines gave the standard answer that they would look into what happened and that Bass should get in touch with them after gathering further information.
Even though it seemed like not everyone cared about the baseball player, one person wrote:

Since there is often not much time between short-haul flights before the plane has to take off again, the crew is not always able to clean the plane thoroughly.
Another user clarified:
The flight attendant was making sure the next passengers had a tidy seating area for their flight, but Karen thinks they should get down on their hands and knees to clean up after everyone’s kids or get fired.

According to the New York Post, Anthony Bass has pitched for the Padres, Astros, Rangers, Cubs, Mariners, and Marlins over the course of his 12-year career.
So far this season, he has pitched in seven games and has a 7.11 ERA (earned run average) in six innings.
Even though it’s hard to travel with kids, Bass’s anger doesn’t seem to have gone over too well, and his tweet seems to have backfired.
In the future, it might be best to just clean up your own kid’s mess without a fuss.
