Apple iPhone SE 2 or iPhone 9 is coming soon in the market but still, its name is not decided. Every report confirms that Apple is working on a mid-range budget smartphone but none of them gives out the official product name. The Cupertino bases tech giant won’t reveal anything before the launch event just like every year and it has been an important point of discussion in the tech industry.

The latest rumors suggest Apple won’t add any number or letter suffix and simply call it just as ‘iPhone’ and the release date will also be announced very soon as March 2020.
Apple iPhone SE 2 or iPhone 9: Why Different Names?
Apple is coming up with a new budget iPhone and every report mentions similar specs, features, and designs for the device. But somehow none of them agrees on a universal name and calls it iPhone 9 or iPhone SE 2, while others use both the names.
Since the device is expected to be Apple’s next entry-level smartphone, it makes sense to call it iPhone SE 2 as it appears to be the successor for the 2016 iPhone SE. Although, the form factor and build are similar to iPhone 8 and since iPhone 9 was the missing model in the lineup, hence everyone started calling it as Apple iPhone 9 too.
iPhone Release Date and Official Name
Apple could simply remove all the other attributes and call it just iPhone as per one of the latest reports. Jon Prosser, the popular Apple analyst agrees with the name but doesn’t trust the source that much. The original iPhone SE had a 4-inch screen whereas iPhone 8 comes with a 4.7-inch display which is the same size as the upcoming iPhone, which creates further confusion.
However, fans won’t have to wait for much longer as Apple will be launching the iPhone at a brand new event set to happen before the end of March 2020. It will be a few more weeks and the confusion of iPhone SE 2/iPhone 9 or simply iPhone will be over.
