The wireless air buds by Apple were launched way back in 2016. The second iteration made its appearance two years after in 2019. The AirPods 2 since their inception have had a warm welcome.
The company did not release the exact sales figures concerning the wireless bud but the printed circuit boards (PCBs) used in the making of the Apple’s AirPods 2, had gone through an increase in its production.
The ramping up of production of the materials will last until early 2020 at least, There were rumors perceiving that the Cupertino company will launch their new earbuds as early as this year.
So it is due to the supplement in the production of the rigid-flex PCB, the arrival of newer wireless buds by Apple seems dim.
AirPods 3, will debut in 2020
It is believed that the next generation of AirPods will be built on SiP (system in package) meaning the current way of production will be obsolete.

Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst anticipates that the new models of AirPods will likely go into volume production phase in the first quarter of 2020.
Mr. Kuo also stated that the newer AirPods will be “more expensive” and will have an “all-new form factor design”
According to another report, the third-gen wireless buds from Apple will have a noise canceling feature, semi water, and dust resistance, improved hardware, and software.
As of now, the Cupertino giant does dominate the wireless headphone space, the company account up to 70% of the market share of the truly wireless earbuds business.
The likes of Samsung, Google, OnePlus and other brands are pumping their own alternatives to the AirPods. So it will be interesting to see how does Apple compensate to its rivals.
