While Donic got the rookie of the year award, Young had to satisfy with the runner up title. But never the less, it was enough for them to stand across each other in the NBA games. Both the players will affect their teams in a big way and the future of the teams depends on it. Here are all the features of Hawks and Mavericks compared to decide which team has the better young roster of players.
Draft Picks and Cap Space Money
When this year’s free agency started, the Dallas Mavericks were quick enough to make a deal with Kristaps Porzingis. The Mavericks were then left with a $30 million of cap space. The next player to sign a deal with the Dallas team was Seth Curry and they have still $23 million left to spend for more players.
The Atlanta Hawks managed to pick De’Andre Hunter and Cam Reddish at the 4th and 10th number pick respectively. While the Mavericks have traded all their future picks, the Hawks have retained their picks for the next NBA drafts. John Collins and Kevin Huerter are the new members for the Hawks and they can build a solid young team in the next trade lottery.
Which team has better Players?
Even though the Mavericks does not have any future picks, but they have a solid young roster for the present season. Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, despite being young players are very talented in the basketball court.

The Atlanta Hawks still needs more players and maybe manages it before the next NBA season. On the other hand, the Dallas Mavericks may end up as the 5th or 6th team in the next season of NBA. If Atlanta Hawks uses their future picks wisely, they could also come out on top.
