An Australian OnlyFans model named Kaila Smith was shocked to find out the amount of tax bill she was supposed to pay. The 21-year-old took to TikTok to share her experience of filing taxes and the huge bill amount which she couldn’t believe.
Australian OnlyFans Model Stunned To Find $15K Tax Bill
Most Australians are familiar with filing their tax returns after June 30th of each year. And that’s exactly what 21-year-old Kaila Smith was up to when she found out her tax bill amount. The Australian OnlyFans model took to her TikTok account to share her experience of filing taxes and paying a whopping $15,000 tax bill amount.
She posted a TikTok video stating “It is tax time and tax time has done me so f**king dirty,” which garnered a lot of attention.
She shared how when she used to be broke she would get a tax return, however, now that she’s earning well she had to pay taxes worth $15K which was a huge amount for her.
“Like, when you are broke you almost have to get a tax return every single time and that used to be me. Last year I got like $500 return.
“But this year I have to pay pretty much $15,000 in tax and I’ve never paid that much money for anything in my whole life, apart from my car.”
However, Kaila Smith added that it makes sense since she’s earning more money now thanks to her OnlyFans account.
“It’s a scary thing to do. But then I also have to remind myself [that] I’m earning more money, so I shouldn’t feel bad. I just wish I knew more about tax time and finances.”
The OnlyFans model later realised if she’d been paying the tax monthly, she wouldn’t have to bear such a big cost at the end of the year. Most Australians apply for the PAYG (Pay As You Go) system where you pay tax each month.
After some comments on her TikTok video suggested that she employ an accountant to handle her finances, she updated the users responding to the comment.
“I found such an amazing accountant that specialises in this sort of thing so I think I’m all sorted now.”
While some fans and users offered advice, others were annoyed that the OnlyFans model didn’t understand how taxes worked.
A user commented,
“If you pay tax, it means you’re making money. Grow up, get educated and pay your fair share,”
Another’s read,
“Wants all the income and not the bad that comes with it.”
One user commented,
“You didn’t seriously think you could earn$100k tax free?!?!”
