Early Life
Avan Jogia, the son of Wendy and Mike Jogia, was born on February 9, 1992, in Vancouver, British Columbia. His father is British Indian Gujarati and his mother has a mixed ancestry of English, German, and Welsh.
He has a younger brother named Ketan, who is a music producer based in London. In addition to being fluent in English, Jogia also has some knowledge of Gujarati and French.
The Start reported that Jogia attended Killarney Secondary School until he was 17 years old, at which point he decided to focus on acting and had already accumulated some minor television roles. In a conversation, he revealed that his parents took him out of middle school and opted for homeschooling instead.

Avan Jogia’s first role was in the 2006 biographical TV film “A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story.” He played Danny Araujo, the younger brother of a transgender woman. In 2007, he had a recurring role in the TV sitcom “Aliens in America” and appeared in the horror movie “Devil’s Diary.”
