The first Avatar movie was released around 10 years ago and people have been waiting for a sequel since then. James Cameron, the man behind the highest grossing movie is taking its time to make Avatar 2 as good as he can.
The release of Avatar 2 and its sequels is always getting pushed back due to some reasons. But now it looks like, we finally have progress. A lot of new cast members have been announced for Avatar 2 along with a final release date.

List of confirmed Cast
The main lead from the first movie, Jake Sully and Neytiri will also star in the second installment of Avatar. Sam Worthington will reprise its role, which was shown alive at the end of first Avatar. Zoe Saldana is once again ready to portray the Navi princess Neytiri in Avatar 2.
Signourey Weaver who portrayed the character of Dr. Augustine in the first movie is also set to star in Avatar. Although she died in the first installment, there are reports that she will take the form of Goddess Eywa in Avatar 2.
While the character of Colonel Miles played by Stephen Lang was shown to be impaled by Neytiri in the first Avatar movie, we never actually saw him dead. As they say, the deaths you don’t see in movies doesn’t count, so Stephen Lang will be back to take revenge in Avatar 2.
The latest addition to the massive cast of Avatar 2 is the Titanic actress Kate Winslet. She has a very good relationship with the producer James Cameron who asks her to portray the role of Ronal in Avatar sequels. While we don’t have many details, Ronal will be a motion capture role, a free diver of the Navi race Metkayina.
Vin Diesel recently shared a picture of himself with James Cameron on the sets of Avatar 2. It confirmed the reports that the Fast and Furious star has been cast in a secret unknown role for the Avatar sequels.
While coming to the child cast, James Cameron has cast 7 young actors for Avatar 2 and upcoming sequels. Jamie Flatters, Britain Dalton, Trinity Bliss, Bailey Bass, Filip Geljo, Duane Evans Jr, and Jack Champion are all cast as children of Jake and Neytiri, on which Avatar 2 will be focused.
Along with that the Game of Thrones star Oona Chaplin has been also cast in Avatar sequels. It is reported that her character will feature in all the four sequels and plays a crucial part in the story.
The latest addition to the cast of Avatar 2 is the Asian actress Michelle Yeoh. Michelle is famous for her role in Star Trek: Discovery TV show. As confirmed by James Cameron, she has will portray the role of Doctor Karina Mogu in Avatar 2 and 3.
Release date for Sequels
We all know that Avatar 2 is arriving soon, but what is surprising that James Cameron is working on not just one sequel. There are currently four Avatar sequels which are in progress and will be released year by year. The release date for Avatar 2 and upcoming sequels are as follows.

- Avatar 3 – December 2023
- Avatar 4 – December 2025
- Avatar 5 – December 2027
While Avatar 2 has always been delayed and James Cameron is trying to make it as perfect he can, it will finally release soon. After the Disney Fox merger, there are high chances that Disney will fast-track the release of all the Avatar sequels.
