It is the end of an era. The 22 film saga is about to see its culmination in less than 15 days, and speculations about the plot are on the rise. Avengers Endgame has a run time of 3 hours, the longest in the history of the MCU.
The last few minutes of Avengers Infinity War saw Thanos vacationing among lush green paddy fields somewhere in the galaxy. But the moment is not meant to last. A few minutes later, in Avengers Endgame, he will be standing on the ruins of the planet about, to fight Captain America, Iron man, and Thor.
Emotional battles next
But that’s just the beginning. The Avengers have bigger problems than Thanos. The last film will see the end of the emotional battle the Avengers have been fighting amongst themselves. The team needs to reunite before it faces the biggest villain in the history of the universe.
The conflict began in Captain America: Civil War when Tony Stark discovered that it was Bucky Barnes who killed his parents. Steve Rogers helped Bucky Escape, and that was the end of the friendship between the two.
Why they lost to Thanos
The Infinity War started with a fractured team, and therefore it is no surprise that the Avengers lost. No half of the universe’s population is dead, three-quarters of the Avengers are gone, and the Earth is in chaos.
But before they can face Thanos again, the team has to resolve their conflicts. Therefore, it is not surprising that the Avengers Endgame needs 182 minutes to handle the resolution, and feature the epic battle.
Before the Avengers Endgame, the Infinity War held the title of the longest Marvel movie with a runtime of 149 minutes.
Avengers Endgame is set to be released on April 26th.
