The famous 16-year-old Instagram personality called Backpack Kid has also joined other prominent organizations in the lawsuit game of suing Fortnite for allegedly utilizing his signature dance moves, without taking his consent or providing him with any sort of royalties.
A lawsuit was filed by Backpack Kid’s mother on behalf her child, who started gaining popularity after posting videos which starred him doing amazing dance moves on Instagram, which the kid named ‘The Floss.’
In December 2017, Fortnite offered a rare emote which is also called ‘Floss’ via the Season 2 Battle Pass. It enables the players that won the battle game to carry out the dance moves.
Just like other organizations like 2 Milly and Alfonso Ribeiro, Backpack Kid claims that the creators of Fortnite have allegedly used their dance moves in the form of a emote, without their permission.
Interesting, Backpack Kid, whose real name is Russell Horning, is also suing video game publisher 2K Sports, which develops NBA 2K, saying that the company also stole his moves.
The kid is filing lawsuits for damages which have not been specified and wants the court to prevent and stop the firms from using his dance moves without consent. It is also being said that Backpack Kid is presently in the process of issuing copyrights for his moves.
