Bad Boys 4 is happening; that’s a fact. In the last few years, there have been rumors and news stories about a fourth movie in the series that would bring back Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as detectives Mike Lowrey and Miles Burnett for another adventure. After Will Smith’s scandalous slap at the Oscars last year, there were rumors that the film might be canceled, but more recent rumors said that the sequel was still on track.
Now, Smith and Lawrence have confirmed that there will be a second book. Smith posted a video of himself on his way to a surprise for his followers on Instagram. At first, he didn’t say what he was up to. When he finds a house, Lawrence is there to meet him at the door. The two actors are excitedly hugging each other as they tell the camera that Bad Boys 4 is definitely happening. However, they are starting to wish they had saved the title Bad Boys for Life for this new movie.
It’s official, y’all,
Smith says in the footage.
Bad Boys for life, baby! For life!
Lawrence spoke up when he saw the name of the third movie and said,
But we did For Life… but, it’s still Bad Boys for life!
We shouldn’t have called it that, though,
Smith says, amused.
But, this is Bad Boys 4, it’s official.

Bad Boys 4 will happen for sure.
Last month, Bad Boys 4 producer Jerry Bruckheimer gave hints that good news was on the way. In an interview with THR, Bruckheimer said that the sequel with the same two main actors wasn’t set in stone yet and that he hoped Smith would come back so that the movie could be made. He thinks that even though he made a mistake at the Oscars last year, people will still forgive him.
Absolutely [Will can come back],
said Bruckheimer when asked about Smith’s possible return.
I mean, Will made a mistake, unfortunately. That’s not who he is. He’s a phenomenal actor and there’s always forgiveness in the world. And hopefully, the audience will forgive him.
Bad Boys 4 doesn’t have a release date yet, and it’s not clear when filming will start, but since Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are back together, it must be soon. Smith fans can see his most recent role in the Apple TV+ movie Emancipation, which was directed by Training Day’s Antoine Fuqua and has been praised by critics.
