Today, a sad story is coming out of New Orleans about the death of Jermani Thompson. When the accident happened Tuesday night at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, the 26-year-old worker was taking bags off a Frontier Airlines plane.
Jermani Thompson started working for GAT Airline Ground Support when he was 26 years old.
Around 10 p.m. local time on Tuesday night, the young woman’s hair got caught in a belt loader.
A source said that Jermani was taken to the hospital quickly, but she died there.

“We are heartbroken and are supporting her family and her friends as best as we are able. Please send your well wishes to everyone at our New Orleans station during this very difficult time,” the CEO of GAT Airline Ground Support said.
Angela Dorsey, Jermani’s mother, said that her daughter went to Tougaloo College in Jackson, Mississippi and that she loved basketball.

The heartbroken mother told NOLA, a website for news in New Orleans: “She was my baby girl. Everybody loved her.”
