In the Netflix original called Beef, Ali Wong and Steven Yeun are two drivers you might want to think twice before messing with. The series premiered on April 6, 2023. Since the first episode, when Ali and Steven’s characters Amy Lau and Danny Cho meet in an incident that involved road rage, fans seem to have been obsessed with it.
Beef is one of Netflix’s recent shows, but plenty of binge-watchers have already finished the first season and are looking forward to more drama, fights, and explosions than the show has offered so far.
But there seems to be a chance that Beef will be another of the streaming service’s popular one-season shows that got canceled despite being popular.

Does Beef Season 2 have a chance of coming to Netflix?
We don’t know yet if Beef will have a second season or not. But fans don’t need to worry for now because the series might get a renewal for season 2.
The first season of Beef aired on April 6, and all ten episodes were available on Netflix. Even the most dedicated binge-watchers are still processing season 1.
Also, it’s essential to keep in mind that if Beef Season 2 does happen, the show might have the potential to change in the future. Lee Sung Jin, who is the showrunner of the black comedy, said he envisioned and pitched Beef as an anthology series. This means that Season 2 could have a different plot than Season 1.
Also, unless Lee wanted to do a Ryan Murphy and keep the same cast on the same show, the anthology route would probably mean that Amy and Danny’s story would end with the Season 1 finale, “Figures of Light.”
Cards on the table, we did pitch this show as a limited anthology, so there is sort of a close-ended-ness to the story [of Danny and Amy],
Lee told Elle.com about a potential Beef Season 2.
He added:
But, if given the opportunity, of course, I’d love to explore them further because Danny and Amy, I love those characters. But yeah, by design, though, this a close-ended narrative.
Fans might witness several other beefs between the characters having different backgrounds in Beef Season 2.
Lee already had plans for Season 2 of Beef prior to the airing of Season 1. The writer stated that the story’s original idea was to show that beef doesn’t have a specific look and can affect almost anyone.
I think in my 45-minute PowerPoint, there were multiple other beefs and other character types to explore,
Lee told Elle about his original pitch for the show.
Lee went on to say that the direction of Beef will depend on whether or not Netflix renews the show for another season. Lee has his fingers crossed, he says.
