Ben Affleck Talks Joy of Working with Jennifer Lopez and Matt Damon
Reaching Peak Happiness in Life and Career
In a recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Ben Affleck opened up about his life and career happiness. Joined by his best friend Matt Damon, the 50-year-old filmmaker discussed their upcoming film “Air,” which premiered at SXSW and is set to release on April 5. The movie tells the story of Nike’s efforts to secure a deal with Michael Jordan in the 1980s.
Following “Air,” Affleck will produce another sports biopic featuring his wife, Jennifer Lopez. He shared his thoughts on working on “Air” and the importance of being close to his children during the process.
‘Happiness was being able to be here in Los Angeles, where my children are, and see them every day.’
Working with Best Friend Matt Damon
Affleck expressed his excitement about working with Damon, calling it a dream come true. He said, “Having [my kids] come visit the set, working with my best friend my whole life — there’s nothing more that I want.” He emphasized how much he enjoyed working with Damon and loved coming to work every day.
Affleck and Damon agreed that spending time together while working on the project was a bonus. They also discussed their desire to spend more time together, considering their long-lasting friendship.

Ben Affleck’s next film, a biopic about wrestler Anthony Robles, will be produced by his and Matt Damon’s new production company, Artists Equity, and distributed in partnership with Amazon. The film will also feature his wife, Jennifer Lopez.
‘What fun and what a joy to see her be great, go to work with your wife, go to work with your best friend.’
Affleck spoke about the importance of enjoying one’s work and the people one works with, saying that loving your work environment can lead to a happier life. He and Lopez surprised fans last year when they tied the knot in Las Vegas and have since been enjoying their time together with their children from previous relationships.
