Black Clover is a fantasy adventure manga. It started publication in February 2015 in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump. The series was an instant hit among readers and grew in popularity outside of Japan. Studio Pierrot adapted it into an anime and started airing in October 2017. Anime has also gained immense popularity in Japan and internationally as well. The writer and artist for the manga is Yūki Tabata.
The plot revolves around two protagonists, Asta and Yuno. They are both raised in an orphanage in the Clover Kingdom. They both dream of becoming the Wizard King. Wizard Kings are considered to be second in command, only next to the King in authority. However, Asta is magicless and Yuno has an immense talent for wind magic. Later Yuno gets the four-leaf clover magic book which is very rare and is given only to the most powerful of mages. Asta also somehow gets hold of a five-leaved clover book that helps him use anti-magic.
They both join different Magic Knight squads to fulfill their dreams. Asta joins the Black bulls and Yuno joins the Golden Dawn. The story progresses with their adventures while they fight all kinds of foes and make friends. All the while they are improving their abilities and getting more closer to their goals.
