Bleach TYBW Cour 2 is back after a 10-year hiatus. Tite Kubo, the manga’s author, previously revealed in an interview with Viz that there would be extra battle scenes that were not in the manga. Bleach TYBW Episode 17 features massive alterations that deviate from the original manga.
Bleach TYBW Episode 17: Changes From The Manga Featured In The Episode
Bleach TYBW Episode 17, “Heart of Wolf,” was released on July 29, 2023. There have been a lot of alterations noticed in the previous episode.
Here’s a list of the changes that have been introduced in the anime, as pointed out by a Reddit user u/EFFYouAndYourCow:
- In the anime series, Giselle’s Vollstandig activates alongside Candice’s, although only Candice’s Vollstanding was triggered in the manga.
- In the anime series, we see Captain Shinji attacked by Bambietta twice after her Vollstanding transformation. Captain Shinji was even given a dialogue before being blown away by Bambietta’s attack.
“You may have transformed, but everything is still reversed you kno…-“
Captain Shinji was also blown away twice in the manga series, but once during Bambietta’s Vollstandig transformation and once after she had completely transformed.
- In the anime series, Komamura starts talking about his temporary immortality. In the manga series, Komamura claims that Dangai Joue is the form of Tengen Myo-oh that has abandoned its life while the Great Elder stares at Komamura’s heart.
- In the anime series, it is shown that Tengen Myo-Oh briefly appears in its regular form in the anime before donning its armor. While in the manga series, Tengen Myo-Oh is already summoned in its “Dangai Joue” form.
- In the anime series, Komamura strides toward Silbern after the fight before collapsing to his knees, and Dangai Joue breaks apart. In the manga series, he falls as soon as the battle is over.
- In the anime, there is no confirmation that Haschwalth has received a message; he merely remarks, “So it’s time…” before informing Kyoraku, “His Majesty is waiting, excuse me,” and turns to go. After all that, he tells Kyoraku to thank Nanao for the barrier and asks him if he’s leaving. While in the manga, a blue halo appears around Haschwalth’s head to indicate that he has received the message, startling everyone in the room—including himself. He then responds with “Understood” and informs Kyoraku that he is returning to the Silbern. When Kyoraku inquires whether he is indeed departing, he answers, “Yhwach’s orders are final.”
- The anime series shows the battle between Mask and Shuhei, Ikkaku, and Yumichika. While in the manga series, we only see the beginning and final moments of the fight.
