The CBS police drama Blue Bloods is yet to end its current season and fans are already speculating about the return of the beloved show.
The 19th episode of the 9th season was released on April 12, and there are three more episodes set to be aired before the series ends. CBS has made no statements regarding the return of the show, but fans are hopeful.

Hurdles on the horizon
Blue Bloods is the fourth most-watched show on the network after Salvation, Criminal Minds, and NCIS. So we are anticipating its recommission by CBS sooner or later. However, there may be some hurdles on the way.
The cast of the show has not yet signed any contracts for the upcoming instalment, and that is making us nervous. Additionally, Donnie Wahlberg – who plays Danny – is featuring in a new HLN Original Series called Very Scary People. Although Donnie has made no indications whatsoever about his departure from the Blue Bloods, his involvement in the HLN documentary cum series may affect his workload.
Tom Selleck provides insight
Tom Selleck, who plays Frank Reagan, provided some insights about how the contractual procedures work. He said, “Typically, most cast members sign contracts for six or seven years upon joining a show, and then after that, they tend to negotiate on an annual or semi-annual basis. A lot of it depends on each actor’s desire to continue the show, the monetary value of the contract, studio demands, or other factors.”
When asked about the fate of his character on the show, Selleck revealed that there will be no romantic storyline in Frank’s future, even though there have been some characters with whom he felt a connection.
Blue Bloods season 10 is expected to be released in September this year.
