The Boruto Manga series has started to resume its journey through Two Blue Vortex. Fans are particularly enthusiastic about this manga series since Masashi Kishimoto has been engaged with it since its inception, and they anticipate a similar experience to that of the Naruto Shippuden series.
Previously, the Boruto Manga Series garnered harsh criticism for its terrible artwork and much worse plot development. For a fact, the plot development was so awful that Kishimoto had to return to the series in 2020.
Even though the Boruto Manga has received good reviews, it failed to recreate the Naruto magic. What failed the Boruto series? This article will analyze the reasons behind the sinking ship of the Boruto Manga series.
Boruto Manga Series: Why Is It Failing To Engage Its Audience?
Fans believe one of the main reasons for the failure of the Boruto series is that it is a Monthly Shonen Manga. Fans would have been engaged to the series if it was released weekly. Fans consider it “totally a drag” to wait a month for an update on just one conversation.
One of the Reddit users, u/Secret_Sample_3552, who posted about why the Boruto manga is failing, says:
“I think if Boruto was weekly and on shonen jump the sales would be on par with MHA and Jujutsu Kaisen but under manga plus the numbers are miniscule. The monthly release seems to have killed the hype sadly.”
Others contend that, unlike Naruto Shippuden, the Boruto series fails to recreate iconic battlegrounds with exciting fight choreography.
“Naruto created a lot of iconic fighting location. while boruto is just an empty dimention, night forest etc. They argue they dont want destroy konoha. but the battles in boruto have low environmental damage.”

Before Boruto, many excellent monthly mangas, like Berserk, Vinland Saga, Attack On Titan, and even Full Metal Alchemist, were popular enough to hold readers’ attention.
“I agree with everything else that you’re saying, but I don’t think the release schedule is necessarily to blame. Boruto is just a very plot-driven series. They don’t spare much time for world building or fleshing out relationships between characters.”

No matter how strong the characters are, if there isn’t a proper plot progression, the series is bound to fail since it has failed to make the most of many characters that had potential.
Ikemoto's drawing is just too bad ngl, I can't resist seeing the drawings, I only read the manga for the story it has. Kishimoto drew so so good, and not only him, many other's are drawing so good ikemoto's feels unnatural drawing.

Fans say that the lack of background with a fast-paced tale is causing them to lose interest, in addition to criticizing Mikio Ikemoto’s art style for barely making it 50 pages.
“The biggest problem is that Ikemoto is really bad at “how to tell a story”. He doesn’t draw spreads, but the amount of information in each chapter is as low as that of a weekly magazine.”

It is a recognized fact that Ikemoto abhors double spreads and refuses to provide additional details, thereby failing “to tell a story.”
Final Thoughts
The first chapter of Boruto Two Blue Vortex was released last week. Even though the first chapter has received mixed reactions, fans are still waiting to know how the series progresses as they continue to keep their faith in Kishimoto. It is too early enough to judge the new series entirely based on the first chapter. We hope Kishimoto successfully brings back the old magic of Naruto into Boruto.
