Manny Pacquiao seems to be in no mood to lose in his fight against Keith Thurman. The 40-year-old Filipino athlete has been hitting the gym regularly in recent few days. The boxer currently holds the title of World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight championship title.
Pacquiao has reached the final and most intense state of training for his upcoming fight. Manny Pacquiao will fight the WBA special champion, Keith Thurman, next month and the winner will have both the titles. Manny Pacquiao’s Training Sessions
Manny Pacquiao realizes the importance of his next fight and has been under a vigorous training program. The boxer is currently training in his home country Philippines at the Elorde Boxing Gym, located in the Mall of Asia, Pasay City.
The first week starting from June 10, Monday to June 15, Saturday will have a light workout session both in the gym and out on the road. Manny and the team will leave for Los Angeles on June 15 for the more powerful and crucial leg exercises of the build-up program.
As per Fortune, the first week of Training sessions will be significant and decide the rest of the program. The training team also revealed that Manny’s leg injury from playing basketball had been now healed and he is as fit as before. There is also a new set of plyometric exercises to build up more muscle strength and stamina.
Pacquiao vs Thurman
The main reason for all this training is the upcoming Pacquiao vs. Thurman boxing match. Keith Thurman has a 29-0 streak; it will be interesting to see if Manny Pacquiao can break it. The fight will take place in MGM Grand Arena of Las Vegas on July 20. It will be interesting to if the training program has an effect in the Pacquiao vs Thurman fight.
